To make extrvtd come together as a brand, I wanted to expand upon the e-commerce side and 2D images, and venture in to the video side of brutalist design. I decided I wanted to create a concept series of videos that would involve featuring guests in a short video where they can express their thoughts and answer questions about vinyl records and their design.
For the purpose of the prototype, I recorded a single video which involved Natasha Varley answering questions about her favourite records, their design and her reasonings. I wanted to carry across some of the brutalist web design themes I have captured in my website, so I decided to adopt the computer window style visuals to house a photo of Natasha as well as any images of projects she spoke about in the interview. In addition to this, I also included an audio waveform as an extra asset to the video, which I think fits the overall theme effectively.
To present, I have taken a snippet from the minute long audio we recorded which has been edited and will be presented on the website. However I have also created an uncut version of the audio which includes myself asking questions and Natasha answering. Both of these videos are displayed below.

Both videos were edited within After Effects and used the exact same assets I used in XD, which I imported into After Effects in order to manipulate them and animate them. In addition, I used the inbuilt audio waveform generator which made it easy to create the dynamic dots which animate when speech is detected.
