What If?

To begin with I have outlined some initial ideas that I have and would like to explore when creating a story. They have been listed below in order of preference.

Best Ideas

  • What if there was a fake city you could never leave? (1)
  • Propaganda promoting the perfect city
  • When people arrive, they cannot leave
  • Takes a dark turn when people realise it is not perfect

  • What if there was a never-ending train? (2)
  • Main character is a commuter
  • Each carriage has a different setting
  • No one can get off or on
  • The scenes get darker the further you go

Extra Ideas

  • What if music controlled your day?
  • You are given a random playlist
  • Each song is random, and the genre determines your day
  • Heavy – Worse Day for example

  • What if a digital assistant designed your day?
  • The assistant determines how good your day will be based off many things

Based off my initial ideas, my current two favourites are listed at the top which is a fake “perfect” city that you can never leave and a never ending train journey. For both ideas I intend to run off a popularity/honour system where the story changes depending on how the main character treats their peers. For example if they’re nicer to their neighbours (idea 1), they will be more liked and less likely to encounter problems. Whereas if they decide to be mean or cause issues, their neighbours will start to hate them and turn against them in the future.
