In this post I will reflect on our group work while creating the ‘Cozy Club’ as well as detail my experience.
Since this was the first collaboration project I had done on this course, I wasn’t sure what to expect in regards to the effect I had on my peers marks and vice versa. However due to the way the course is designed, I believe it removed a lot of the fear of letting others down. On the other hand, as a group we worked perfectly together and was passionate about the project which eliminated this fear. I certainly believe that the ability to choose groups helped in the long run, as we were all motivated to create a concept and idea we loved.
One thing I especially think worked well was how we divided up roles depending on our strengths and abilities. For example, Corey created a professional looking 3D cafe which is something I wouldn’t have been able to achieve in this time frame. My role allowed me to create merchandise and a website, which are things that I’m passionate about and help highlight my organisational skills. In addition, Jess created our logo early on which allowed me to progress with any branding that used the logo, which without it would have been difficult to change later.
One thing I think we could’ve improved on would be time management and possibly having a better schedule for creating assets. This was something we had mentally figured out mostly but had not detailed this for the whole group. Although some assets could’ve been created earlier on to save time at the end, I do still think we completed our tasks in a reasonable amount of time and to a high standard.
Overall I believe as a group we created a unique and special project that reflects our abilities and creative personalities. I enjoyed working in this group as all three of us have shared interests and talents that overlap.
