11. Research 1/2

My chosen group decided to go with an Arcade/Casino to base our assets off of since we all agreed that the casino limits us, causing an issue to create 10 assets each. BY doing this, it allows us all to create more unique products and vary them throughout the group.

To begin with I started by writing down the different items I initially thought of that would be found in an arcade or a casino, which is below;

Once I had these lists, I picked out assets I thought I would enjoy making, as well as making sure I wasn’t making any that people in my group had chosen. I aimed to pick as many more detailed assets so I had a smaller amount of simple assets. This was mainly to challenge me as before this module, my 3D knowledge was minimal.

To begin creating my chosen assets, I had to research existing items I would find inside one of the two places. Therefore I began to search up different arcade machines as well as gambling machines that casino’s usually include.

Above is a Wack-A-Mole machine I researched before creating mine. I looked at this image to determine what the machine must include and then how I can create my own version in my own style. For example, the machine requires individual animals that pop up for the user to hit, so instead of a mole I decided to use a bear to add my own style to the machine.

Here is the final asset used in the machine I created.

What I also found in this picture is that the hammer used to hit the pop up animals, is a separate asset that the user would use, therefore it would need to be created separately but not need to be integrated with the machine like the bears.
